Marcelo Son has retired from soccer, according to a Facebook live video the player posted Saturday night.
The former El Paso Locomotive FC and Real Monarchs outside back mentioned he's been offered coaching positions but plans on spending time with family for a while.
Son, 38, played 15 years in the USL Championship and was a key figure in El Paso's run to the Western Conference semifinals in 2019.

The El Paso native was drafted seventh overall by the Pittsburgh Riverhounds back in 2007.
Son scored three goals and added 27 assists over his 15-year USL Championship career.
In 2009, he was named to the USL-2 All League Second Team, while also leading the league in assists that year.

He played in 29 matches for El Paso in 2019 and 16 games during the club's shortened 2020 season.
Son notched two assists during the 2021 campaign before retiring at the end of the 2022 season.
